Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered into a search box are sent to the third-party provider that powers that result. The site operator does not keep a copy of those search entries. A message sent to the contact route is used only to read and answer the information included in that message.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those logs are used in aggregate to maintain the pages and understand general traffic. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when a provider uses them.
How the Data Is Used
Technical data helps keep the directory pages working, find errors, and improve useful content. South Windsor Residents Directory does not sell visitor lists or build a personal profile of an individual reader.
External Portals and Tools
The pages link to South Windsor, Connecticut, federal, library, archive, and sponsored search resources. Each outside service has its own privacy terms. Anything submitted after leaving these pages is governed by the destination provider, not by this policy.
Who Can Receive Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational reasons stated above and as long as the hosting or service systems require. There is no South Windsor Residents Directory password, account, or user profile to protect here.
Children
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. If a person under 18 sends personal information through the contact route, a parent or guardian may ask for it to be deleted.
Connecticut Privacy Choices
Depending on coverage and applicable exceptions, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, enacted in 2022 and effective July 1, 2023, provides rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling. Universal opt-out preference signals have been honored under current Connecticut guidance since January 1, 2025.
Those rights concern data held by a covered website. They do not delete a South Windsor deed, court docket, voter registration, vital record, or assessor card held by its public custodian. To ask what this reference retains, use the Contact page. For an official record, contact the Town Clerk, Assessor, Registrar, court, or other agency that holds it. The Connecticut Data Privacy Act guidance is the state resource for scope and exceptions.
